Confidentiality Policy

This document describes the Confidentiality Policy adopted by the website ciau.org.ua (“the Website”) of the non-governmental organization “Creative Industries Association of Ukraine” (“the CIAU”). This document explains what kind of information can be collected and retained by the Website, how it can be used and shared.

Collecting and Using Personal Data

Personal data are information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

Website visitors may be asked to enter their data to register with the Website.

When Website visitors fill in the form to subscribe to the CIAU newsletter or use the Website feedback form, it is considered that they consent to their personal and contact data being processed by the CIAU. The CIAU may retain information about the type of connection, traffic, and date and duration of the visitors’ presence at the Website.

Personal data of Website visitors may be used for information exchange and to maintain the relations in advertising and communications in full compliance with the following laws of Ukraine:

Personal data of Website visitors may be retained for 3 years.

The CIAU Website automatically recognizes the domain name or the IP address of the computer making the request, as well as the access data, the client file request (file name and URL), the HTTP response code, the website from which the visitor accessed the CIAU Website, and the number of bytes transferred during the session.

The Website also uses cookie files that ensure proper initialization and functioning of the Website security components. Additionally, the cookies allow detection of the attempts to breach the Confidentiality Policy and terms of the Website usage by the users or their devices.

We use Google Analytics to collect the statistics about Website usage, namely: what webpages were visited, the number of views, the downloaded information, domain names of Internet service providers, countries from which visitors access the CIAU Website, and addresses of the websites visited immediately before and after the CIAU Website. None of these actions can be linked to a specific visitor and all the measurements are general and anonymous.

Automated Collection and Usage of Information

The following information is collected and stored automatically:

  • the domain name or the IP address of the computer used to access the Website;
  • the visitor’s browser and operating system;
  • the time and date when the Website was accessed;
  • the webpages visited;
  • if the Website was accessed via a link from another website – the address of that website.

The data about traffic within the network, visitors’ e-mail addresses, and visitors’ online activity at the Website are protected by the law. It means that the CIAU employees cannot infringe on the privacy of telecommunications.

We have the right to provide any personal information about Website visitors upon a request from law enforcement authorities, to comply with a court decision/ruling, as a part of other legal procedures, or in response to other legitimate legal requests made in accordance with the legislation currently in force in Ukraine.

The CIAU shall not be held liable for any loss of profits or revenue, loss of data, or any other damage sustained by Website visitors, which may arise from Website usage. Website visitors use the Website on their own responsibility. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the CIAU, nor any other party involved in the creation, production, or maintenance of the Website, shall be held liable for any direct, indirect, or accidental damage, whenever it was caused, resulting from the access to, usage of, or reliance on the Website, regardless of whether the Website visitor was warned about the possibility of such damage and losses.

We neither guarantee nor claim that the products, services, events, formats, or information mentioned at the Website will not infringe on the interests of third parties.
