Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, which took place on February 24, 2022, changed the lives of Ukrainians once and for all. It has disrupted a peaceful life, separated families, and forced millions to flee their homes. However, the Ukrainian nation has united like never before. Many Ukrainians, including those occupied in the creative industries segments, are supporting the national resilience in a myriad of ways. Many have joined Ukraine’s Armed Forces, and territorial defense units, enlisted in the IT army or became volunteers for emergency response or humanitarian relief. 

However, many contribute by speaking the language of design, art, and culture. Through their creative communications, these individuals aid with maintaining international audiences’ awareness and continued international support of Ukraine in this terrible war. They also try establishing a dialogue with the Russians, appealing to their hearts and minds.

The Creative Industries Association of Ukraine (CIAU) is a non-profit organization established to facilitate the development of creative industries in Ukraine and promote Ukrainian creators and their projects in the global market.

The war has equally affected the activities of the Association, but we were able to identify the need to support Ukrainian creatives in project fundraising, coordination and mentoring, as well as continuing to provide other CIAU services in addition to the two temporary tracks of the war-related relief:

• Individual financial support for Ukrainian creators
• Fundraising assistance for Ukrainian creators’ ideas by CIAU

We encourage patrons and representatives of the creative community from around the world to join for funding, which will be directed to the Creative Industries Association of Ukraine as well as individual creators requiring financial support.
